The Language of Making with Mariana Garibay Raeke

Since 2021, we have been collaborating annually with artist & educator Mariana Garibay Raeke to host The Language of Making.

The Language of Making at Pocoapoco is a week-long intensive workshop designed to explore language as a tool for reflection, inquiry, and critical engagement in creative practices. This immersive program invites participants to examine the connections between their personal history, cultural and art-historical contexts, and the physical manifestations of their work. Through introspective exercises, group discussions, individual meetings, and presentations, participants will cultivate their ability to articulate the core ideas shaping their practice.

The program is open (and encouraged!) to artists working in all disciplines!
